- ill-will: 악감정, 악의

- conceal: 감추다, 숨기다

- free-for-all: 원하는 것을 얻기 위해 무엇이든 하든 무한경쟁을 뜻한다.

- body-line bowling: 타자를 위협하기 위해 몸을 바짝 대는 투구

- '~롤' 요리 같이 생긴 것이 있는데 그걸 cordon이라고도 한다.

- work off: reduce or get rid of energy through activity or work

 

13. Still, you do make things worse by sending forth a team of eleven men, labelled as national champions, to do battle against some rival team, and allowing it to be felt on all sides that whichever nation is defeated will "lose face."
